this brings out his shadow again, as that would mean MC has to face reality, as that is the only way out now
Handman uses a powerful move and the boy is in the clutches of him, this is a metaphor about how tight of a grip MC's shadow has around him now
"its ok, but theres no chance of winning..."
the lights in the room are all off now, which means there is no light anymore, this is a metaphor about how the MC is doing mentally, not good.
"don't replay the boredom" they all say
as we can see MC is imitating the girl, but within the girl's words it causes MC's shadow to rise, because facing reality hurts
you can even see the apple juice color on the inside of MC, in their eyes, and dripping from their mouth
the tree starts growing after confronting his issue like this, basically he doesn't like facing the reality of the situation and would rather stay rooted
"its ok, its not worth it, but its not a joke"
they both sing this line showing us they both understand the feelings
"dawn from the world you dreamed of" plays on this scene, and its basically her telling MC to wake up from these fantasies. also we know she's not real (in the scenes where she is physically in the apartment) because we can see the edges of the TV screen here
"the highway in my dreams is warm and cold"
he's explaining that even though indulging in these fantasies makes MC feel better, it ultimately ends up hurting them.
also this "Take 1" shot shows us that they believe that they only get 1 shot at life (and therefore implying how worthless they feel to know that they're wasting away)
