Oh, it's #mermay! I have been looking at the mermaid I worked in the past couple of years and was super unhappy with how I colored her in the end...guess I'll revisit and see if I can glow her up!

Here are the last couple of years, too, cause history is fun~

A couple of years ago, I had trouble with my color palettes - everything came out muted and dull

Now I'm saturated af! 🤪

My goals for this year are lighting and a quicker production style. I miss being able to churn things out daily.

Here's a look at her many, many iterations. This one took a really long time; I got frustrated and stopped multiple times over a couple of months.

She's done! My OC, who finally has a name: Margeaux.

Got a little torn on whether or not to include her headpiece, so... both! :P

Starting off strong today! I think this is my favorite face I've painted so far.

Today: upgrade the glowy orb and detail tweaking~

It's time to pause for the day. Kinda waffling around with the color of her hair now.

Also still struggling to get her nose and eyes the shape I want...here she is with old art, for comparison.

🤔 I didn't give her the big, gravity-defying look I usually do but I think we've found a decent shape for her hair!
