I had a lot of teachers over the years discourage my anime-influenced style and I had a lot of them tell me to stop drawing mostly women and girly things and to them I say:

A year and a half after I drew that (near unrecognizable) Jem #10 cover, I drew my very first Marvel covers: World of Wakanda #5 and AMERICA #5. I still have a loooong way to go and so much to learn about art and craft, but sometimes it's good to acknowledge where you started!

FB showed me one of my first ever comic book covers from exactly 3 years ago and wow, I am... shocked. It's crazy how much I've improved since then. Who even drew this, it wasn't me?? Jem #10 vs Jem #19, less than a year later. I guess the moral here is: keep practicing. 😂🙏🏼💖
