If you look at the writing choices here… the emphasis is clearly NOT on making the surface-level logic line up. Yuina's lines don't *actually explain* how she found the tracks. The focus is the *implicit*.

Boruto is written in a way that really rewards fans of OG Naruto, it’s awesome.

I love how Sasuke looks over at the mountains as he’s trying to piece together what’s wrong with Shikamaru/Sai.

If he suspects they’re being controlled (they are), his first hypothesis might be to check high points near the village like how they did vs. Pain. Such a cool detail

Daemon's eye looks like a half moon. Except it's yellow.
Notice color of the moon in the shot immediately after it gets split in half in The Last.
