Hamlet and Eärendil - a Thread.

(1) It is perhaps hard to think of two more different strands of European story and myth than Shakespeare and Tolkien. Indeed, the author of Middle-earth was none too fond of the Bard. And yet, two of their greatest tales are deeply interlinked.

@ReginaldODonog1 @MarkWitton @SpenceMcDaniel It just leads to a sort of bizarre thinking. If you already have a legend of giant, chimerical serpent-beasts, identifying huge mystery bones as belonging to them seems understandable.

But why on Earth would you find a random femur, and think up *this*? There is just no logic.
