@tealram @charaflower07 @moe_bara_bitch Because Mia Ikumi updated the designs in the manga sequel that was released a couple years ago.
@LCD_D3M @Magia_Ruru @charaflower07 @moe_bara_bitch Because of the newest manga that the original manga creators made.
(22/28) Speaking of Aoyama, some have noticed the change in skin-tone. Now before you start shouting “Whitewashing”, Aoyama was never tanned in the manga. In fact, he was very pale:
(14/28) Remember, in the manga, Ichigo’s first transformation was activated when she was struggling to get away from Ryou and then fell out of the tree. The trailer clearly shows her transformation activating as she’s falling from somewhere. So it might still be the same.
@CouchonBruno No they didn't. In the manga, he was pale-skinned. His skin being way dark was an anime change. However, his skin in this reboot is slightly darker than the manga, so they at least tried to compromise a little bit.
In commemoration of the new anime, the original Japanese Tokyo Mew Mew manga, along with A la Mode and 2020 Re-Turn, will have re-released New Editions, with new cover art by Mia Ikumi. The first 3 volumes will be released on May 13th!

@lilacbender Aoyama was light-skinned with blue hair in the manga. Mia Ikumi did him darker in a beach pic, but that was just him getting a tan, so it was a one-time thing. The darker skin and black hair was an anime coloring change. I'm not sure which coloring the new anime reboot will use.
The only day of the year you can post this X3.
