Bipedal was part of our human definition, so this one could be ruled that simply. But what if it walked on two legs? We all voted no except for one of us, tho none of us could explain why.
Lastly, we looked at Envy/Lust/Gluttony. (The group did not know they were homunculi yet)
This one was easy and unanimous for the group--yes, of course Ed is human, we agreed.
But how about Alphonse? Is he any less human because he exists in a suit of armor? He can't eat, sleep, feel the rain... and so begins one of the big themes of FMAB, the mind-body distinction!
