It's that time of year when toxic diet culture and fatphobia make it onto my feed. Some from strangers, some from pals who should know better. And its beyond damaging to hear someone's worst fear isn't the pandemic, it's having a body like yours.

Take your meds, drink some water, go outside, and pretend everything is normal.

I'm so grateful to trade unions and the solidarity across art and cultural workers right now. When directors on £100k+ cut the lowest paid staff, the most diverse staff, the most vital staff but claim their hands are tied it's hard not to just burn everything down.

Doesn't feel that long ago since Ramadan celebrations were listed as irresponsible and dangerous as VE Day conga lines swept the nation. And now the focus is on Muslim Eid celebrations but pubs and restaurants are fine.

As mass redundancies hit the lowest paid museum library and gallery workers I have never felt more disconnected from the people who decide what culture is and how I get to access it, when decisions around reopening, health and safety, and job security is made by privileged few.

I've wasted so much time worrying I don't look queer enough or that I'm too sober for queer spaces but reading and making queer zines and working with @QueerZineLib has strengthened my connections and sense of pride and continues to be a lifeline. Queer zines forever. #pride

As museums and libraries get ready to reopen I've never felt more detached from the kinds of people who make these decisions.
