Sometimes, time in a diptych is a strange thing, where one of the works reveals itself simultaneously with the other, not in a sequence

I painted this for an anonymous young man who died in today's war. Whether Russian or Ukrainian, he'll no longer enjoy warm bread, nor the safe embrace of a mother, nor tremble before a hopeful future. My heart is so haunted by this absurd loss of life.
