Whispering to myself "fake it 'til you make it" every time I start coloring a new picture

Done with the skin and the hair. Trying something different for the eyes. Good idea, but not quite there yet.

Shading hair is still really difficult for me to feel out properly or be satisfied with. It's really time consuming... Maybe I should move on with coloring and come back to this later so I don't get stuck on one thing

Just now realizing that trying to get the shading even across alternating bands of colors is gonna be a un uphill battle when each color is it's own separate layer and you can't have both on the same layer because then it'd all just blend together

Comparing the old one and the new one side by side... a lot has changed, huh?
