I always looked at it as a just a flashforward. Same with the beginning of Shippuden. But I guess it can be viewed both ways 🤔

Boruto still has to get physically stronger on his own and learn how to control Momoshiki’s powers in order to surpass Naruto and Sasuke in their strongest states.
