Skipping right over #53 and halfway into #54 bc this is a Nita focused thread, I forgot how long the battle/plot with Sunfire was. Namor finished with that, suddenly recalls Nita & Betty.

Namor you've known Nita a day. However you're right bc she isn't giving Betty an easy time

Yes Sunfire is absolutely on the:
Water vs Fire Battle list, coming in forth behind Jim, Toro, and Johnny.
Action scenes by Everett is always a treat.

Namor: First thing to know about humans; All surface people suck, except Betty Dean.

This sequence of Namor intimidating Nita into listening to him has always felt ooc with any other interactions. It's only a one time thing & never happens again though. However it makes me wonder if this was how his only father figure growing up (Tha-korr) treated Namor as a kid.

Issue #52

Namor: oh damn, now I have young teenage Atlantean girl who needs a parent to raise her and I know I'm under qualified for that. I'm gonna send you to live with an old friend on the surface world.

Nita: Go to the surface world? f*ck that!

She mentions that Byrrah was a cruel stepfather to her so Nita definitely had a rough time in court (also the fact that Byrrah later wanted Nita to be his princess, I wish I could kill him twice) Quietly moving past Nita's teen crush on Namor. Thank Neptune this doesn't last long

Issue #51 Byrrah makes his move to attack Namor and Nita. Byrrah tries to covince Nita to settle down and become his princess but nah, she fights just as hard as Namor to beat Byrrah.

I always laugh at these panels of Namor trying to shove Nita to safety.

In Issue #50, Namor is fresh off his latest bout of amnesia and a run in with Doctor Doom, when he returns to the ocean and sees what he thinks to be a human drowning. Namor saves her and gives her cpr to save her life but turns out she didn't need any saving!
