Since then I’ve learned how to use thumbs to my advantage and most of my pieces now start off as a sloppy bunch of quick sketches in my sketchbook. This helps map out a composition before truly committing to it. The example below was a commission I took on for @Artz_Bird ✨

Back then I never really used thumbnail sketches to help lay out my pieces into a pleasing composition. I was also trying to work traditionally with materials that didn’t quite work with the style I was trying to emulate and meld into my own.
