Michelangelo was born #onthisday in 1475. We have two casts of his works on display in the Kiss and Tell exhibition - the Madonna and Child and the Taddei Tondo. Look out for the Madonna and Child in the Great Hall as you enter Christchurch Mansion. https://t.co/BZqOhKcFhJ
Ogilvie’s diary shows how some cases changed over time. This rough legged buzzard and common buzzard started out together but can now be found in separate cases. Ogilvie’s diary also reveals some truly spectacular drawings of birds, like this red necked grebe.
100 years ago the Ogilvie collection started making its way to Ipswich Museum from its old home at Sizewell Hall, gifted to us by May Ogilvie. Fergus Menteith Ogilvie’s collection is one of the most complete collections of Suffolk birds. Photo: East Anglian Daily Times, Dec 1940
