yugioh zexal is a weird and not?? terribly good show??
but the way it sucks u into its world is genuinely like enrapturing, and it has some of the best payoffs in any yugioh
the scene where neo galaxy eyes is first unleashed is one of the most glorious scenes i've ever watched
holy fucking shit tier: revolver (vrains)
yea it's no contest
the rokket monsters, dragons that are bullets which are loaded into guns that are dragons, may be the coolest fucking designs in the game
and their effects fit their designs perfectly which is just *chef's kiss*
YOOOOO tier: shark (zexal)
YO THIS GUY HAS A FUCKING SHARK DECK HOW FUCKING SICK IS THAT?????
he uses water and fish, two of the least respected categories in the game, and every card he plays is a fucking killer
LOVE shark, LOVE his deck
i like HERO ok?? tier: aster (gx)
this is a cheat cuz i'm combining 3 versions of this character, but i fucking love hero
d-heroes being edgy counterparts to the e-heroes blew my mind as a kid, and the v-heroes tie modern hero decks into a cohesive whole, which i gotta respect
honestly pretty sick tier: kaiba (dm)
while kaiba's blue-eyes is ofc one of the most iconic monsters in the game, kaiba's deck has several different win conditions thru the series, and each one exemplifies a different aspect of his character
that fucking owns
begrudging sigh tier: jack (5d's)
he's one of my fave characters in fiction and his ace monster is my favorite card but i actually don't like jack's deck as a whole very much
he summons red dragon and uses it and ONLY it to win
thematically fitting? yes
boring? also yes
yawn tier: reiji (arc-v)
alot of the decks in arc-v have way too much going on, and it's hard to get invested in the cards of each character, and reiji's comparative lack of screentime and overly-detailed designs of his monsters puts him at rock bottom for me :T
me watching the fortune cup arc of yugioh 5d's vs. me watching the dark signers arc of yugioh 5d's
