The new Cora Ginsburg catalogue is out! You can read it here: https://t.co/yfKI39iZG4. Here are some of my favourites from the catalogue - a 17th-century embroidered picture, early 18th-century cord-quilted waistcoat, mid-18th-century gown, and 18th-century silk garters
Shout out to Rembrandt for this excellent pudding cap moment!! Can we all make a group effort to bring back pudding caps please I beg https://t.co/5M2vqlh6wQ
Positively living for these probably 19th-century hooked rugs (listed as needlework panels) depicting delightfully wonky dogs up for auction soon (https://t.co/0f2kxoz3EE). One of them is named Jumbo! Would love to decorate my home with funky little dog rugs
Cold and dreaming of this c. 1715 @V_and_A bed set (coverlet, bolster cover, pillow covers, valances). From the Vyvyan family of Cornwall and was supposedly worked by Mary Vyvyan when her husband was imprisoned in the Tower of London, but was actually likely professionally made
Currently on display and for sale at @Witney_Antiques is this absolutely lovely circa 1660 embroidered picture of the story of Jephthah. It has the cutest details, including tiny knitted stockings, a hefty lil bunny, and ripening strawberries 🍓
This 1659 cabinet, in the collection of the @burrellcollect, is probably one of my all-time favourite 17th-century embroidered boxes. The stitching is impeccable and I'm so taken with the stripy shading. And look at those extremely charming faces!
Been thinking about the other vegetable costume designs from this set, especially the cap-wearing potato who looks like they're dissociating, a lot lately https://t.co/zrk4arDcs5
Now that it's September I can finally reveal my autumn moodboard
I just....have so many questions about what's happening with the figures (and one in particular) here https://t.co/jPmeYBVwIA
Other AVAM faves include a portrait of MLK Jr. in matchsticks, a beaded tie depicting a cow abduction, some big ol’ apes, and an artificial leg made in a POW camp
