The many colors of Heresy.
I embarked on some color-studies for the legions from the Horus Heresy. This is, obviously, just a slice of what is out there but it was a good exercise for me.

After seeing the fantastic new Fafnir Rann model teased today during @WarComTeam's Black Library reveals show I had to do a new pixel piece based on it. I modified the colors slightly to give it more contrast at a smaller scale.

So what's a pixel artist to do? I tried several variations. In the end, though, I settled on the more vibrant, rich teal. It wasn't an easy choice but it seems to reflect the direct GW is heading with their color choices.
Okay, we're done for real this time. 5 named legionaries from each surviving legion plus a generic marine. I feel wrung out after this but also proud.

And a second batch of misc. pieces as I seek to round out my Horus Heresy pixel series.

In a rare double post we have another entry into my Horus Heresy pixel series today: the proud sons of Ultramar arrive!

Tuesday sees another Horus Heresy pixel-series entry come marching methodically, stoically to Twitter. It's the Death Guard!

And finally we have the apothecary Atesh Tarsa. He's based on a piece of interior art by Akim Kaliberda and a cover by Neil Roberts, both done for the book "Sons of the Selenar."
Monday brings us the fiery heroism of the Salamanders legion as the next installment in my Horus Heresy pixel series. Just three legions left!

A relatively late post for me brings us the next set in my Horus Heresy pixel series: The Emperor's Children!
