I loved how the red eyes and blue highlights of the Erythomma najas popped with the dark water and green leaves.
Maybe I will find the time to do a proper painting of this.
Sadly some dragonflies get caught in the mist nets and while we tried to free them, not all survived. This Orthetrum cancellatum was one of them. I still don't know how to mix their specific shade of blue.
This Aeshna mixta was rather early (4th July) and didn't survive the night. But it was a good study object.
