Some lovely tree portraits are popping up. I posted this some time ago, it was done in situ with the Malvern Hills in the background. I looked for the tree recently and it’s completely choked with other growths.
Medlars, this is as far as I got, and these weren’t good for anything afterwards. Fascinating subject though.

I’d prepared something more muted for this week but it’s wet and stormy in the UK so I chose this brighter one from years ago instead.

A calla lily I couldn’t walk past. Unwatered and crammed onto a stillage outside a local chain store, it’s now tucked up in next door’s greenhouse.

..... and the months, days, hours it took the growers and distributors to get this small bouquet to my table for such a short time. I’ll be picking one from the garden soon.
I won this little bear in a raffle. He was the last unwanted prize after the wine and chocolates had gone. I think it rubbed off on him, he looks like the kid nobody wants on their team.

I didn’t paint tulips very often because once cut they swerve about, drooping or turning to the light, petals spread wide and I had to work really fast.
