[blushes]).
Left to right: policy perfectionism, appeal to social justice and fossil fuel solutionism (cartoons by @leolinne https://t.co/YJWfe0FZkz).
Crucial point many terrible pundits don't realise: techno-optimism is such a common argument by politicians who don't want to act on climate change, we included it prominently in our article covering discourses of climate delay. Comic by @leolinne .

So we have a billionaire making one of the central arguments to *not* act on climate immediately, but instead invest in speculative tech. Color me so surprised we wrote a whole damn paper on "discourses of delay" - and @leolinne made Bill's persona.

"Net-zero by 2050" has become yet another #DiscourseOfDelay, a meaningless statement of blind faith in non-existent technology rather than acting to reduce emissions NOW. In cartoon form, it looks rather like this chap. Think net-zero by 2050? Think tying a rocket to your crotch.
@KernEnergy And we wrote a whole other article on "discourses of climate delay", immortalized by the great @leolinne in comic strip format. You're this one. You can frame it.

@IsabelleLetell1 @leolinne captured it perfectly.

Big shout-out to late-stage capitalism for transforming millennials into a desperate & radicalized - yet highly skilled & creative - proletariat, who see revolutionary change as the only way to avoid utter destitution on a dying planet. Thanks, mates. Marx would be proud.
