Today, Feb 2, is Setsubun, how Japan marks the old Lunar New Year. You throw dried soybeans at imaginary devils, shouting “Out with devils, in with happiness!”

Then you’re supposed to eat one soybean for your age. I just did this, though it’s a lot of soybeans in my case.

Sonico is known as a "gravure idol" in Japanese, meaning sexy swimsuit idol. Has this word become English yet? It comes from the French 'photogravure.'
