...And the original version. What a difference 15 years can make. Also, here is the link to the funding campaign for the shiny new updated version:https://t.co/79PvVJMx05
Thanatos, done for my Mausolea project. The hand of Hades, executioner, soul hunter, and all around good guy.
Also, he will serve as the cover image for my new Mausolea poker deck, will which start production soon.
Beyond the land of pale shadows, my second piece from the new Invisible Sun book; https://t.co/UCvpnuBjQZ
From MTG Core21, this is the Witch's Cauldron! Tough piece to figure out, but once I wrestled with the concept I came up with this fairly straightforward, (obvious even) composition. Hindsight always makes art look so easy ;)
And my final card from the new MTG core set, is Liliana's Steward! Had so much fun working on this guy. Tried to make as many little details reference Liliana as possible.
At the end of all roads. Done for Invisible Sun, from Monte Cook Games, specifically the new book "Threshold". Surrealist art is so unbelievably fun!

And the second of my new MTG cards in M21 core set, is the Havoc Jester! This little guy is a Rakdos devil acrobat, and he's here to party. With a burning ring of fire. And Caltrops.
My new card from Core Magic set this year, this is Predatory Wurm! He was designed with Garruk in mind, as the ultimate hunter, and I even modeled the face and horns to resemble his helmet design. A tiny bit.
Done for my Mausolea project, this piece is "The Palace of the Ancients", a remote stronghold in the mountains of Irkalla.
The 3D modeler for the palace in this piece was Carlos Reinhold, who worked from my layout and architectural design.
