ONLINE EXHIBITION | Another artist from my Gallery that features in the current 'Outside Forces' online exhibition with @ArtEnables is Margaret Mousseau with work ... 'What did we find... A new home!'
Do check out the show & the other 100 self-taught artists on their website.
TO INSPIRE | Makoto Toya (b.1944), currently in his 70s, has been drawing since his teens. He states that he feels something akin to a ‘high’ as draws. This of course doesn't last forever, thus he feels the urge to continue drawing until he reaches that state of eurphoria again.
IN CONVERSATION | Margaret Mousseau’s work was bought to my attention last year by her son in #America. Her work, started 4 years ago, often features topical issues or events that have happened in her life.

NEW YORK | Making her debut at @outsiderartfair is #MargaretMousseau who only started drawing in her sixties as part of her therapy.
This piece titled ‘Flying Away From Home’ has something to do with Margaret’s youth when she was trying to run away from something. #oafnyc2020
Opening tomorrow at @whitecolumns in New York is 'Healing Arts' - an exhibition focusing on the HAI archives (Healing Arts Archives)

NEW YORK | "Memory Palaces: Inside the Collection of Audrey B. Heckler" is open now at @FolkArtMuseum - The collection is emblematic of the growth of the field of self-taught art in the United States, a curiosity for European art brut, and a search for international discoveries.
NEW YORK | Catch @LANDgallery work at Long Island University Brooklyn Campus. 'Trading Spaces' is a survey of work created at Brooklyn’s first arts day habilitation program over the past 15 years.
