The Vimy Memorial, built after the war in gleaming Seget Limestone is without doubt one of the finest on the Western Front. Sacred soil for Canadians, it represents a defining point in their history as they emerged into an independent nation.
A favourite location is the Indian Memorial at Neuve Chapelle to the memory of 4,700 Indian soldiers who lost their lives on the Western Front. Tragic that it is so close to this busy roundabout, street lighting - and cannot be seen easily through the trees.
