"how can we have an artful painted cover while also, for contractual reasons, showing the actors faces???"

Day 4:
I actually have no context for this one, some old trapper thing i did? Wasn't a study as far as I can tell....

Welcome to Jason's , in which I desperately scape the bottom of the barrel to justify why the old piece posted every day is vaguely Christmassy. Expect a lot of just, snow and white beards

Not sure if we need to work hard against the algo yet, but hey if you want to add me to some lists :)

Some details, happy about that fire!
The real Jermamites, Banana Bros and members of the Drew Crew will hopefully appreciate some of the little references there in the back.

Thanks again to Grotto beasts, Jerma and Holly for the opportunity, and thank you for reading :)

I always do a tight sketch for my pieces, but to get there I iterate a bunch. gesture, halfway, then final, sometimes with an extra step in between. Trying for some cartoon realism of leyendecker here. I also picture bugles as like, a plumber who loves spooky things -

The 2nd, after I had the idea for a little narrative, was basically trying to remember "patterns"; dark massed trees in background with line of light under them in the open field, grey introduced into the ground colours. solid yellow that mixes with the background etc

Sure!
So the photo for the study was chosen bc it was good practice for a lot of things: massing values together, colour constancy, & abstracting foliage. worked on the first with that in mind trying to think about how subtle shifts can change a colour within those massed values https://t.co/HgwtGozezo

Photo study + practice from memory exploration from years ago.

This type of thing I think is crucial to get lessons to stick.
