It just struck me why Chris Claremont made Madelyne Pryor a pilot. @LouiseSimonson2 and @WalterSimonson were right.

Eventually, both adult and teenage Jean conquer and subdue the Phoenix Force, sending it away. Adult Jean chooses to return as she once was before she became Phoenix long ago—“to the way things were before any of this…happened”—dressed as Marvel Girl. 19/
Later, the Phoenix Force resurrects and places adult Jean in an illusory reality comprised of a blend of her ideal and former lives while it tries to destroy young Jean to cement its bond with her. However, a facet of adult Jean’s spirit transcends, aiding her younger self. 18/
These moments always remind me of two things: 1) Why I love Jean Grey, and 2) Scott really learned and grew a lot as a time-displaced teenager. ☝️🏻😌
I love that Domino thinks of Jean first to mitigate a "five-alarm" emergency. Jean puts out a psychic blast affecting all of Krakoa, "embed[ding] a psycho-psionic undertone of fear into the broadcast...most will feel scared, sick." And the Cuckoos feel both. 😂 #XSpoilers
