The Lightning bird or impundulu is a vampiric bird from southern African myth. It has the ability to turn into a beautiful man to seduce others. It is most infamous for its thirst for blood and pain, which it is known to take from humans, birds, and cattle.
The Aigamuxa, are African humanoid man-eating creatures from Khoikhoi mythology with eyes on their feet. In order to see, it must stand on its hands or head, or lie in the sand. Tales has been collected by Leonhard Schultze-Jena for his book Aus Namaland und Kalahari.
