When picking the colours of the clothes I usually use the opposite colour of the character’s skin colour, I recommend not doing this all the time. You can find the opposite colour using a colour wheel. I also change the shade of the clothes to make the clothes stand out more.
Picking colours:
When I’m picking colours for skin I never use human skin colours, because that ain’t my style, but if it’s yours then use human skin colours. If you are like me, use colours that stand out from the colours of the oc’s clothes.
And now by best ability, colour. In this topic I’ll be discussing colour theory how to pick a good colour palette and what not to do.
Using shape theory wrong on purpose:
To intimidate:
If a character can’t fight but still wants to defend others or himself. Uses shapes like triangles to convey that they are dangerous, even though they aren’t
To hide true intentions:
Use circles to hide true evil. Like Kirby
Shaped and silhouettes:
Basic shape theory:
Shapes can be divided into three basic shapes. Triangles, circular shapes and rectangular shapes. Shapes can be used to convey themes and how people act. Use shapes theory wrong to hide true purpose or intimidate.
The next topics we are gonna discuss are all about drawing your characters. First I’ll discuss shapes and silhouette then I’ll discuss how I pick colours. When drawing a character keep in mind the themes and lore then draw your oc based on that.
What the oc is based on:
When making an oc I usually base them on things in real life, like animals or objects. When you have what you want your oc is based on, do research on those things. For example with gangko I based him on chameleons and Japanese Yankees
Basic tips on how to improve an oc.(Take everything I say with a grain of salt I’m not a professional)
Today I’m going to teach who ever is reading this how to make your oc look nicer, and look more aesthetically pleasing.
I’ll bring using my oc gangko as an example.
