Week 13 Art Output
So much. The Science Zelda was a birthday gift for a friend that I did last week. Did a piece on Emma Frost’s #HellfireGala outfit this year, and started doing some #wicdiv fanart to mark my slow and deliberate re-read of that series. #drawing
Took a break from art, but I’m back! #xmen #drawing #HellfireGala2022 #emmafrost
Black inks have been really important to include in my palettes for pieces with a heavier tone. The #Magneto piece is inherently funny, but I needed those dark shades to emphasize that he’s brooding (in his boxers, but still)
These two versions of a Pixie piece I did a couple weeks ago help highlight how big a difference the line color has on the finished piece.
I liked what I did with the last Illyana piece so much that I iterated on the rendering techniques I was practicing on several more pieces. I like how these all have a sort of pastel feel to their colors, though I also miss the sharp definition I get from black lines.
This was the first piece I did this year that really worked. The painting’s good, the anatomy isn’t wonky, and the outfit I designed for #Magik is a good riff on her classic New Mutants looks.
