Good morning! Let's talk about the one where we get the comics version of a disjointed, drug-addled montage and Kieron does shoutouts to a bunch of his influences. Love to start with Minerva ripping the next issue's cover out of her calendar. #onceagainwereturn
Given my new appreciation for Sakhmet, I'm looking forward to reexamining her and Laura's relationship. Before now I mostly just saw it as Laura looking for someone to emulate while she copes with her issues, but I think it might be more complex than that. #onceagainwereturn
I love how the structure of the page (this one with the votes strikes me as the reason Kieron wanted the 9-panel grid) doesn't allow anyone to dwell on this moment. The Morrigan just voted for Baph while he's sitting there, and nobody blinks. #onceagainwereturn
Minerva goes right on setting up opportunities to expose cracks. Baph makes a very Baph joke, and Morri's not having it because jokes about promiscuity are in poor taste coming from Cameron. #onceagainwereturn
After the action bit we get into the super tense 9-panel scene where everyone looks very unhappy to be there. Baal begins by saying he hasn't killed enough children and Minerva says it's okay he didn't listen to her more closely. #onceagainwereturn
But... What if *you're* the baddies?
J/k, Hazel's grossly insensitive and dimwitted, but she's not a villain. #onceagainwereturn
Would you believe I just realized Hazel's starlight gear is based on mimicking Inanna's powers? #onceagainwereturn
You know this is a thing Baal practices. Bags and bags of burnt bread were tossed out back when Baal was being a bachelor. #onceagainwereturn
We are very aware at this point how seriously Baal takes the Great Darkness. #onceagainwereturn
Do you think any of the other gods had a pre-ascension moment of inspiration that they kept under wraps too? Could this have been resolved sooner if someone else had just said, "Oh, yeah, I did the lighter trick once before Ananke too." #onceagainwereturn
