Some of my new animal studies! Small original watercolors and limited edition prints.

My fanart painting of the planeswalker Ashiok from Magic the Gathering! This piece was a personal challenge to create a painting in my own style in the format of a MtG card (it’s not official Wizards art). Love seeing the art styles used in Magic lately and would love to do one!

Maybe I’ll finally finish this today! *proceeds to spend years making shoulder pad s h i n y instead of moving on* (this is fanart, not official wizards mtg content)

Here’s the completed Black Vulture study for @wowbywow virtual show “Outwit the Monster” that opened today! This piece is an unframed 8” x 10” original watercolor, with a black mat included. Head over to Wow X Wow if you’d like to collect it!

This was a really fun project to work on and felt like a high five between the needs of the comic and my personal voice as a painter…it’s one of my favorite paintings I’ve done. I’ll be exhibiting the original at IX in a couple of weeks.

(6/7) Ultimately I think #2 is the winner to develop further. I digitally added to my mockup some distorted faces that I borrowed from my other work as a test. Warped, layered faces are my jam and that is why I chose Ashiok to paint.
