Another set of sketches! I wasn’t planning on doing the backgrounds but once I started it was so fun! Which one is your favorite?

Coastal Grasslands . I dont usually paint backgrounds but I do want to start doing it more. Haveing a full colored image with background realty evokes a lot more emotion than just a figure on a plain background. The pose here was taken from my one of my sketches from yesterday.

Gonna try to get more figure drawing practice in

Took my sketch from yesterday and separated it into 3 different basic values a dark, mid, and light value to help me understand the overall value scene.  I think the next thing I’m going to do is do a close up study of the face and do the same sort of study.
