Cheerilee and Cherry are based on the Zaniskari breed, and Berryshine is their half-donkey cousin!
The flower in Cherry's hair is a green hibiscus from her girlfriend, and the marking on Cherry's face is painted. Berryshine has a stained coat because she's a winemaker.

The Apple siblings are half cow, the Pears all being bovines. The potion pack Apple Bloom carries is from her mother, Buttercup, and she uses it when she practices with Zecora.
