Every now and again I just sit there and marvel at Kinu Nishimura's character designs for Cyberbots. What I'd give to have a game where you get to control all these works of art, both in and out of their mechs 🙏🏽

Striga's one of the best designs on the show, for me. That armour they made for her was straight up "let us do a Berserk show, please" material.

I remember they'd tried to reboot Jak at least twice internally, but nothing ever came of it. They were going with a more realistic route, which was interesting. If it were up to me, I'd try to keep some of the cartoonishness in there. Try to find a good balance.

Something about Keiko Nobumoto's work seriously spoke to me. At least 4 of her anime are easily in my top 10. She had a sharp talent for balancing joy & tragedy in hauntingly beautiful ways with her writing. This one hits hard, but at least she's not suffering anymore 😔 R.I.P.

We've got incredibly charming and thoughtful children's animation like Hilda, or absurdly violent, adult 2D animation like Invincible and The Witcher, or slick ass CGI animation from China like Nezha Reborn. Very cool that it's not super weighted one way or another, anymore.

We're in this real cool era of animation right now (in part thanks to the advent of streaming services), just in terms of the variety of styles we get and stories being told. And we've barely scratched the surface; which is even more exciting to me.
