Just for fun, I made a list of the 10 stories that I consider the very best that Corben did during his underground period. To me, his SF and dystopian future tales have aged the best. But it doesn't mean that his horror and humor stories were any less well made.

I’m a huge fan of Gene Colan, particularly his pencil art. I decided to do a digital painting demo in my class today based on one of his sketches. It was a lot of fun!

I have been honored to be a part of The Other History of the DC Universe. Issue #1 (the only one that was published last year and was eligible) has been nominated for an Eisner Award for Best Single Issue!

As you may know, my earliest collaborator was Jae Lee. In addition to several series and multiple covers, I also colored posters that he drew, which were only seen by collectors at the time. This one, a take on the cover of the Death of Phoenix from X-Men #136, is my favorite.

One of my favorite early works at Marvel was a run of covers for Black Panther with art by Andy Kubert. I had a lot of freedom on these. Here is the first one where I did a watercolor painting first and finished it in Photoshop.

For this cover of War Machine, J. H. Williams asked me to give it the look of a lithograph, and the aesthetics of a propaganda image. So simple color and textured rendering were in order.

March, the first part of the graphic novel biography of congressman John Lewis, is a faithful and informative recollection of his life and his involvement in the civil rights movement. I had the great pleasure to color the deluxe slipcase for the three volumes.
