Rosie tells the little orphans the story of Pirate Sally! This is a cute story.
From Archie Sonic the Hedgehog Issue 153 by Romy Chacon and Art Mawhinney

Also, Sonic In Your Face is where Spaz technically made his debut, with "The Mirror Zone" and a couple of badass pin-up drawings. Check out the Death Egg before its Archie debut in the Sonic Quest Miniseries a couple years later! :D

Art Mawhinney appreciation post!
He was a storyboard artist for SatAM and AoStH, a prominent artist throughout the Pre-Ian Flynn days of the Archie comics (his work on Archie ranges anywhere from 1994-2005) a Golden Books artist, and draws many different children's books!

Some more of Knothole City, this time Steven Butler's depiction of it. Still love it here. That "Technolo-Tree" looks really cool.

The original version of Sonic Select Book 7's cover. Originally the cover was supposed to have Geoffrey St. John on it. Which makes more sense when you consider all but one of the stories in this book had Geoffrey in it. His spot on the cover was taken by Espio because lawsuit.

A couple more. I'd say the infamous "crying Sonic" cover of issue 155 is one of my favorites from Sanford, IDK I personally think it looks kinda nice, although it allegedly was one of the catalysts that caused Sega to pay more attention to the comics.

I always liked what they were, y'know, "going for" with these covers, even if Sanford Greene's style was... odd. He only did like 7 covers in the entire Archie run BTW.
Anyone looking for redraw material, here's some suggestions for ya.

Someone mentioned this in the replies, but here's the original cover, repurposed into a frontispiece in the published issue, including an interesting attire Geoffrey only wore here. I like it.

Sigh... for all of Archie's flaws, those comics got way, WAY more room to breathe than the poor SatAM cartoon. Antoine started as a jokey character in the comics too, but he eventually got to become legitimately cool.
