Created from flowers as a wife for Lleu (who was cursed never to have a human wife) #Blodeuwedd was turned into an owl after an adulterous relationship - so she would be attacked by other birds if she ever showed her face in daylight again. 🥀🦉

A #cobbler met a giant carrying a shovelful of earth he intended to smother #Shrewsbury with; the quick thinking cobbler told him he had worn out his whole sack of (mended) shoes trying to get there, so the disgruntled giant dropped the soil forming the #Wrekin

Nurse #EdithCavell born 4 Dec 1865 & helped over 200 allied soldiers to escape from occupied Belgium. Shot for treason by the Germans in 1915, the return of her coffin to #Norwich saw thousands of people line the streets to pay their respects.
