"Griz!" Tabby is peering down one of the two paths. "Do you hear that? It sounds like... whispering."
You join her and try to listen, but you don't hear anything.
"They're saying our names," she says. She starts off down that pathway, and you follow.

You hear splashing behind you and turn to see Tabby flailing around in the water. You paddle towards her and put your arm around her. Her eyes are wide and panicked as she digs her little claws in your arm and shoulder. You wince as you pull her and yourself towards the shore.

You call upon the sword's power once again, but this time it doesn't seem to do anything of help. You fall rapidly and finally splash down into the water below.

You pull out your sword and lead the group into the chamber. Large stone columns flank the 50 feet to the base of the statue. You look up at the marble face, which in the dim light you can just make out that it is broken at the top and cracked down to the jaw. You hear a voice...

The side of the mountain opens up to a large cavern, and through the darkness, you can just see a massive, elegant statue that rises up far, far above your heads.
"We made it!" Bonnie says.
"Something doesn't feel right," Taurus says, his hoof going to his sword.

Bonnie's paw goes to the crescent moon pin on her cloak, a somber look passing over her face.
"My mentor always wanted to visit," she says. "I want to play a song for her there."
You blink. "That sounds lovely."
One by one they each drift off to sleep, and finally you do too.

You walk up to the bar, order a drink (honey ale) and a bed for the night from the barkeep, and take in the room around you. All the tables are at least partially occupied, but there are a few seats still open.

You come to a fork in the road. You know that they both lead to the same place—a cute little tavern where all the best bards stop and play—the question is which path to take. The left path is safer, but the right is much much shorter.
