..I’ve been poring over it for years now, but it wasn’t until recently I really LOOKED at his work and realised where I’d been going wrong: I was adding more and more details trying to prefect everything, but a lot of the beauty in his work is the simplification and stylisation!

...it’s because I LOVE environment artwork, but I just don’t have the practice under my belt to confidently draw them like I do people.

One of my favourite environment artists is Makoto Shinkai, and one of my fav art books is his ‘A Sky Longing for Memories’ (LOOK IT UP!!)...

Here's my personal art #bestnine for 2019!

It was cathartic in a way putting this together as I've been feeling like I haven't been productive at all this year while I've been busy working out how to Mum instead.

but turns out I haven't been as slack as I thought!
