Personally, I've always wanted Nintendo to revisit ideas from the scrapped Donkey Kong Racing. Riding on animal mounts instead of go-karts has a lot of potential, is more tonally consistent with the Donkey Kong brand, and would further distinguish the franchise from Mario Kart.
