@Booktrust I think I’ve recommended it every year, but Uncle Montague’s Tales of Terror by @crispriestley, illustrated by #DavidRoberts is my absolute favourite scary kids’ book.
@Theartistac There are loads of fun spooky themed picture books out there, but if you’re going for specifically Halloween, then grab:
Pumpkins, Pumpkins Everywhere by @SmritiPH and #LorenaAlvarez
The Halloween House by #Ericasilverman and #JonAgee
@RobinsonKH While I’m not an illustrator, my wife @NiaTudor is, which has led to my involvement in gems such as this:
First up is the art from The Incredible Painting of Felix Clousseau by Jon Agee. I’m a huge fan of Jon’s work and recently got the reissued version of this brilliant book. Every page is so bold and detailed, it’s fantastic to look at.

@elisapeacock In The Storm Whale in Winter by @Benji_Davies the main character, Noi, shows a lot of bravery to find his dad, and The Dark by @lemonysnicket and @burstofbeaden is all about a boy, Lazlo, facing his fear of the dark.
@FatherReading @MoragHood @siphilipstories @ged_adamson @areynoldsbooks @EmmaIllustrate I Love My Fangs! by @bookofkellz is ALSO new and sooo good! Such beautiful illustrations packed with character, and a very economic use of words (plus what a great story concept!) #pbfest
@FatherReading @RobbinsRose @NathanBryon @DapsDraws I haven’t read this yet, but HOW GOOD does this look? It’s about a kid who’s uncle is a drag queen. #pbfest
