These remind me of the illustrations for 'The Elves and the Shoemaker' (Ladybird, 1965) done by Robert Lumley. I was in love with this edition when I was little. #FairyTaleTuesday https://t.co/68BwMmIRut
'Not Before Sundown' (2003), J. Sinisalo: Also titled 'Troll - A Love Story', the novels follows a photographer who finds a baby troll and is seduced by its wildness. Cryptozoology connects the troll to the hidden wild places and the terror therein.

@monster_soup Basically, treat it like a potato ... Cut off the knobbly bits and peel it then it's good to go. I recommend a dauphinoise if you have the ingredients and feel fancy AF.
'Wings' (2009), Aprilynne Pike: The first in a tetralogy, this YA novel sees 15 yr old Laurel discovering she is fae. Pike depicts faeries as being plants; their wings are blossoms.
Like many recent YA faery novels, ecological concerns are central to the plot.
