A regal Heyuannia! In learning more about form, colour, composition, etc, I've steered away from being overly detail focused, but I do find comfort in drawing every little scale or feather every once in a while.
Young ichthyosaurs are caught between a rock and a hard place - a pair of fishing basal tetanurans and a lurking Rhomaleosaurus. Not as happy with this one as I would like but I learnt lots about how to paint water and caustics!
Yutyrannus stalking through a misty forest. I adore this style of painting feathers! I'm also increasingly a fan of detailed animals in stylised landscapes (though that might be my laziness talking... backgrounds are hard.)
Dimetrodon hanging out on a long cooled lava flow, rearing up to catch the sun. Rim lighting is very fun!
Decided to try my hand at an ankylosaur - this Euoplocephalus is climbing up a hillside for some hitherto unspecified reason. Maybe to find some living trees since I only seem to draw dead ones.
I know woolly Pachyrhinosaurus is a bit of a paleomeme and quite unlikely but I really wanted to illustrate a thick shaggy coat in the spirit of winter!!
A lil introduction as I've met lots of people since TetZooCon! I'm Jay - I'm a science communicator with a passion for all things biology, paleontology and zoology! Currently I work as a researcher for science documentaries, doing my best to blend science and storytelling.🔬🎥
