Infact, the dude who was in charge of recruiting and commanding these soldiers was Col Serra, a "Big Boss" type character who rallied all sorts of shady individuals to fight the empire - smugglers, pirates, gunfighters, and people who weren't the usual "dreamers" like Luke.

It's a huge shame that the Battlefront spin-offs for the PSP didn't get the recognition they deserved. Renegade Squadron gave us one of the coolest stories from the pre-Disney canon about an SOF group of Rebel Alliance soldiers formed of misfits and bandits, led by Solo.

A lot of people glossed over Battlefront Renegade Squadron + Elite Squadron, but I REALLY loved Renegade Squadron.

Story wise, it feels similar to MGS Peace Walker with MSF.

Han Solo and Col Serra have basically a renegade Rebel SOF unit made up of ragtag misfit soldiers.
