I don't LOVE retelling the show but I think that can still be fun. I also like the idea of telling side stories or even mild sequels.

Another option I'd like to see is a LOTR Third Age approach where we play new characters within the existing framework of a Digimon season

I actually really enjoy Digimon games based directly on seasons of the show.

I wouldn't be at ALL mad at a Digimon Tamers or Adventure 2020 game.
