In Tsukihime, a sepia filter is used during flashback sequences. As the game progresses, various visuals are inserted with the filter. This seemingly innocent feature was a technique to disguise that it was Kohaku at the window or Hisui smiling, as they had different eye colors.
Nasu partly wrote the final Kara no Kyoukai volume as a challenge where he did not want his words lose to film. He wrote it in a way where it couldn't possibly receive a movie adaptation, daring them to give it their best shot.
It is the only one that has yet to receive a movie.
It was Takeuchi that convinced Nasu to write more Kara no Kyoukai after completing the main series. Regarding the final volume, Takeuchi said:
"There are definitely readers who would want to read another [...] novel. For instance, the person you see right before your eyes..."
