I knew that today I might buckle under the weight of my to-do list. I grabbed a blank canvas and played. My painting practice can become very regimented when I get overwhelmed, the best thing I could have done for my work today was stop working and let myself play and breath 🌻

My first large scale painting since doing a whole collection of small subjects. I’ve really enjoyed this one. Any name ideas?? I was thinking ‘Presence’ - This piece certainly makes it’s presence known, I’ve felt it from the early stages.

‘Odyssey’ - a lot of fun to work on because of the way I could weave the subjects into abstract waves and calm pools. There are some tiny little scuba divers too 🐋 also available as limited edition prints of 45

I wasn’t sure how well this new work would translate to print. Turns out I didn’t need to worry. Every bit of texture, every hidden subject, every slight change of shade, all as clear as the real thing.

#internationalwomensday - Celebrating women today for breaking the cycles of injustices through history and tying up those ends for the generations that will follow! But even more so, the women of marginalised groups who have had to work so much harder to be appreciated 🌻
