That doesn’t make it a good movie. In all honesty I also kind of blame the movie for taking attention away from Zelda. Nintendo knew well in advance well before COVID that their 35th anniversary for Zelda was in 2021 but they gave as little effort to celebrate it as possible
I get Sonic was a good movie but Sega was familiar with Sonic. Illumination butchered the grinch by mellowing him out to as PhantomStrider said “a guy who missed his coffee”. Nintendo could do better than Illumination. Some big name actors are in it sure.
They put little effort into what they’re supposed to like good writing and non annoying characters. If Dreamworks was in charge of the Super Mario Bros movie I’d have more hope because their track record of good movies over bad ones is stronger than illumination
I get that a lot of people are excited for the new Super Mario Bros movie. Personally I’m not because I don’t trust illumination to make good movies. They put money before quality. They’re like if the DNC ran a movie company: shitty, platitudinous, drivel and without purpose

Well there was no Zelda games if you discount Hyrule Warriors or that online replayable stuff but the Kirby game looks cute
