Just finished. I saw it as being in sepia. Instead of coloring it, I just did one solid overlay. I didn't love it in sepia. So, I added some red.

Krita doesn't have a spiral tool but it does have a spiral fill which is good to use as a guide.

The 2-color spiral that I used as a guide using a "spiral" and the gradient tool.
