I experimented with a radically different look which was less earthly and much more alien. It ended up a bit too far from the Toho design, but it was fun to explore a different take!

Final Matagot concept I did for Fantastic Beasts 2. I also want to give a shout out to Dan Baker who already did awesome design and exploration work before I came on board.
The work can also be seen in the Art Book, which features a ton of amazing artwork created for the film!

Step 01) Blocking out the form in ZBrush
Step 02) Adding color textures using Polypaint.
Step 03) Rendering in Modo.
Step 04) Compositing In Photoshop.

In the very beginning of the production of ''The Death Cure'', director Wes Ball was considering to cast Willem Dafoe as Lawrence and asked me to create a concept of him. I decided to sculpt Willem Dafoes face in ZBrush in order to have a base maquette for later alterations..
